Business Development Executive – Education & Apprenticeship Sector

Job Overview

Join an innovative UK-based training and recruitment provider specialising in the further education and apprenticeship sector. We're seeking a proactive and persuasive Business Development Executive to drive outreach, build relationships, and support the company’s growth goals. This is an exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact with potential clients, working alongside a passionate leadership team who are experts in their field. You'll play a pivotal role in expanding our reach and establishing meaningful connections across the UK education sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound business development through calls, LinkedIn activity, and email campaigns.
  • Qualify and engage potential clients from an existing and expanding database of apprenticeship and college providers.
  • Build and maintain a strong presence on LinkedIn through engagement (commenting, sharing insights, and initiating conversations).
  • Coordinate closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to follow an established multi-touch outreach process.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and leads within the Firefish CRM system.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including a fractional CMO and non-exec director) to align outreach with brand messaging.
  • Contribute to the creation of BD content in partnership with marketing, as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ business development experience , ideally within service-based industries.
  • Experience working with international clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently conduct cold and warm calls to UK-based prospects.
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn as a business development and networking tool.
  • Experience working in or with international companies, preferably UK-based.
  • Excellent communication skills with a clear and professional phone manner.
  • Proven ability to self-manage, plan, and take initiative in a remote working environment.
  • Familiarity with CRMs (experience with Firefish is advantageous but not essential).
  • Own laptop, reliable high-speed internet, and a quiet, professional remote working setup.

Basic Salary between R25000 -R35000 per month based on experience + commission
