Multinational pharmaceutical firm seeks sales manager. Sell Antiretrovirals to Government and the Private sector.

What the person must be able to do :

This role is in the South African pharmaceutical industry. The company supplies Antiretrovirals to Government and the Private Sector. Typical customer would include the Department of Health, Provincial Health Departments, Government Hospitals, Prison Hospitals, Correctional Services Facilities, Medical Aid companies, Private Clinics and Mine Clinics. All duties need to take place in the pharmaceutical context.

  • Sales to existing and new customers
  • Leverage existing network of industry contacts to grow revenue
  • Marketing of products to target market
  • Build strategic alliances for distribution of pharmaceuticals
  • Create and execute marketing campaigns
  • Product management of existing and new products including :
  • Product PricingManaging sales targets of existing productsNew product proposalsRegulatory approvals
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Manage marketing and Public Relations issues
  • Build Brand credibility
  • Strong financial management (Full P&L)

Background work experience

  • 5+ years experience in the South African Antiretroviral market
  • Non-Neg : Must have an existing network of customers in the Antiretroviral market. Including both government and private sectors
  • IMM Marketing Diploma or Bcom in Marketing
  • Advantageous : Completed Selling Skills Training
  • Advantageous : MBA or MBL
  • Strong experience in running a sales and marketing operation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
