Job Description

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced and qualified Business Development and Revenue Manager to join CFAO Healthcare South Africa. This is a permanent, locally based position in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth and maximizing revenue through identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing revenue-enhancing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceuticals business development, sales, and financial analysis within the South African market.

Requested Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in business development, sales, or revenue management in the South African pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Knowledge of local distribution models and costing advantages.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Market Access
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including recruiting new principals for OTC and Rx portfolios.
  • Lead projects from idea origination to post-launch performance monitoring.
  • Prepare materials for bidding processes.
  • Coordinate project management across all streams: costing, supply chain, regulatory, legal negotiations, rollout, and performance management.
  • Identify opportunities in public tenders within existing and new portfolios.
  • Understand NEMLC processes for Rx products in the public sector.
  • Stay updated on SEP regulations and coordinate price submissions.
  • Support access to formularies through stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor reimbursement trends, policies, and upcoming bid opportunities.
Revenue Management
  • Optimize gross-to-net ratio through close management of commercial policies.
  • Strengthen internal control awareness and promotional campaigns.
  • Track and manage all gross-to-net elements: fees, rebates, co-ops, tallies, data fees.
  • Implement tools to track profitability by customer/SKUs and develop dashboards.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue performance, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and finance to forecast revenue and set targets.
  • Enhance customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
Strategic Planning
  • Provide insights on business growth, market trends, and competitive positioning.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of strategies.
  • Support the Integrated Business Planning process.
Reporting, Analysis, and Operational Excellence
  • Perform customer and product analyses.
  • Improve processes for off-invoice discounting.
  • Track and monitor commercial policies.
  • Prepare regular reports and develop data analytics tools.
