Job description

Job Purpose:

As a Digital Designer, you are responsible for crafting innovative ideas and impactful digital designs, using visual styles to bring life to bold creative ideas, conceptual development and crafted storytelling across channel.

The Digital Designer will use graphic design, animation, illustration and videography skills to create engaging digital content across digital channels. The individual must be a team player, conceptually strong and highly skilled in design, layout, ideation and conceptual thinking. Able to effectively manage creative briefs from concept through to final delivery. The incumbent will be part of a team that is responsible for the production of digital work across M&C Saatchi Abel.

The Digital Designer must have a love for digital work and understand digital platforms, their functionality and how to push boundaries in order to create thumb-stopping engaging work, especially on mobile.

Experience Required:

  • 3 -5 years’ experience as a digital designer in the advertising/digital agency industry.
  • An in-depth understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within an advertising agency.
  • Good knowledge of media landscape (traditional - TTL, ATL & BTL & digital)
  • Good knowledge in Adobe suite such as, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premier Pro, Dreamweaver and XD are a plus.
  • A bonus would be a working knowledge of other platforms that help an art director bring ideas to life: Dimension, Mid journey etc.
  • Experienced in working with internal team and senior clients across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong conceptual digital design
  • HTML 5 coding of newsletters, banners, building in DV360 is a benefit
  • Have good understanding of all digital media and social channels.
  • Must have experience working with media Chase list/creative matrix
  • Must perform well within a high pressure environment
  • Excellent in working with teams and independently
  • A great eye for design with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the industry and new technologies
  • The ability to present own work when needed
  • Create thumb-stopping digital work especially for mobile on digital platforms

Qualification Required:

  • Graphic Design/Multimedia / Degree in Digital Design or related tertiary qualification
