Position: Civil QC Engineer – EPC Industry
Location: Durban, South Africa

Company Overview
Our client is an internationally recognized EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) company committed to creating a sustainable future. Operating across three continents, the company has a strong presence in the Middle East, Africa, the CIS, and Europe. Their extensive project portfolio includes:
• Marine & Infrastructure
• Energy & Renewables
• Governmental Infrastructure
• Dredging & Pipe Laying

As part of a major project execution in Durban, they are looking to engage a highly skilled Civil QC Engineer to support and oversee quality control activities on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement project-specific quality control plans and ensure civil construction activities comply with contract specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Conduct inspections, sampling, and testing of civil works including earthworks, concrete, rebar, and structural installations
  • Review and verify materials, workmanship, and documentation against project drawings, technical specifications, and international standards
  • Maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, and test results in accordance with the QA/QC system
  • Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation
  • Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance and timely resolution of quality issues
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and handover documentation preparation for civil works
Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil QC within the EPC, infrastructure, or heavy construction industry
  • Certified in quality control/assurance (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ, or equivalent) is an advantage
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, specifications, and QA/QC documentation
  • Solid knowledge of international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, EN, etc.) related to civil works
  • Previous experience with large-scale infrastructure or marine projects is desirable
  • Strong reporting, communication, and coordination skills
