Overview:

The Operations Network Engineering team is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator, Platform Support, to provide technical hardware and software support for Mastercard Linux operating systems and platforms. This senior IT support role requires basic Linux skills, with a willingness to learn quickly. You will assist senior Linux administrators and consultants with daily support functions and maintenance activities.

Role:

1. Support and maintain operating systems such as Oracle Enterprise Linux and KVM virtualization to serve customers.
2. Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools like Chef, Ansible, and Python.
3. Stay informed about the latest developments in software and hardware technology and continuously learn new technologies from vendors and partners.
4. Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to create documentation, requirements, and technical diagrams.
5. Complete status reports, implement solutions, and troubleshoot systems.
6. Use configuration management and automation for repeatable tasks.
7. Design and implement OS build processes and automation, ensuring proper control and validation.
8. Assist users with OS or hardware issues.
9. Adhere to strict change control management procedures.
10. Support or lead minor departmental projects.

All About You:

Education:

Bachelor’s or relevant associate degree in information technology or equivalent experience.

Knowledge / Experience:

• Experience in systems administration.
• Knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure software, communications, hardware, and peripherals.
• Understanding of incident management and problem resolution procedures (preferred).
• Understanding of project management principles (preferred).

Skills/Abilities:

• Professionalism and strong work ethics.
• Customer support and communication skills (preferred).
• Ability to follow documented processes and procedures.
