Job description

Job Title: CAD Operator - Store Design

We are a small team based at the TFG Head Office in Parow, Cape Town. Our team is very supportive, deadline-driven, and focused, working within a multi-branded environment.

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will work across multiple brands within TFG. We are seeking an energetic, creative, assertive self-starter to join the TFG Store Design team as a CAD Operator.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and interpret store layout sketches according to design briefs and brand standards, and present for approval.
  2. Prepare final working drawings, including store layout, ceiling/lighting, flooring, electrical layouts, and elevations, including shopfronts for Landlord approval, manufacturing, and procurement.
  3. Prepare details for fixtures and fittings.
  4. Liaise with Landlords, Architects, and Developers.
  5. Collaborate with internal operational teams, project and procurement managers, and external design houses.
  6. Prepare council submission packs.
  7. Develop 3D models using SketchUp and Photoshop (not essential).
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as ND Architecture, Interior Design, Draughting, or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with design experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (essential).
  • Experience with SketchUp and Photoshop is advantageous but not essential.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Driver's license and own transport are required; willingness to travel locally.
Skills:
  • Proficient in Revit, including Revit Family creation (not essential but advantageous).
  • At least 3 years' retail experience as a CAD Operator preparing drawing packs.
