Qualifications

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Assist other process controllers in operating the plant
• Prepare the plant for startup
• Start up a process
• Monitor and maintain a process
• Shutdown a process
• Control and monitor plant and equipment within the scope of authority
• Clean and tidy up equipment and the work area
• Prepare plant for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete
• Carry out authorized maintenance operations
• Measure, mix, and dose chemicals to the reaction vessels
• Draw and test samples for quality purposes
• Run off finished product into drums, bags, or other containers for shipment
• Act as first line of defense in case of fire and other emergencies
• Perform any other related tasks as may be required from time to time

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 with mathematics and science
• Minimum of one year experience in a chemical production environment
• Chemical Engineering diploma or related qualification will be an added advantage
• Physically and mentally fit
