Job description

SDM aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover, and personal accident plans.

In accordance with the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group, focusing on retail products and group schemes.

What will you do?
  1. Promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products and increase market share by providing sound financial advice and high-quality client service in a branch setting.
  2. Create opportunities for client optimization and cross-selling of value-added products.
What will make you successful in this role?
  1. Sales Delivery: Understand SRM product ranges, assess customer needs, and offer suitable products. Keep clients informed of new or updated products.
  2. Client Management: Validate client details, submit new business through proper channels, conduct due diligence, and manage client appointments and walk-ins.
  3. In-branch Client Service and Retention: Service client profiles, follow up on payments, manage NTUs, and address client queries effectively.
  4. Quality, Compliance, and Development: Stay compliant with standards, maintain records, and update knowledge and CPD points.
  5. Reporting: Report activities daily, compile data for weekly/monthly reports, and handle ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 1-year experience in sales or marketing; insurance experience advantageous.
  • Matric (Grade 12); RE5 advantageous; FAIS compliant; Class of Business training within 12 months.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Support broker activities, process new/existing business, and build partnerships.
  • Coach and develop others; demonstrate business insight and decision-making skills.
