This opportunity is with a successful FMCG-related manufacturer with national and international associations.

The role is a dual focus on cost accounting and financial accounting aspects, with potential to serve as an understudy to the Financial Manager.

Job Purpose :

Provide strong financial support to the FM in collecting, collating, and interpreting financial information.

Support the business in delivering accurate and timely reports.

Ensure the integrity and discipline of the business by driving the implementation and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Assist the senior team in making quick and accurate decisions through data collection, collation, and interpretation.

Maintain the integrity of financial data.

Qualifications & Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CIMA preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Inquisitive, confident, accurate, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead financial processes and collaborate across teams.
  • Contribute to the company's operational and financial success.
Key Responsibilities :
Cost Accounting Duties :
  • Analyze and monitor production costs, variances, and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate cost records (standard costing - BOMs), ensuring precision in tracking materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Develop and refine costing systems to support pricing strategies and profitability goals.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, identify variances, and investigate differences to aid decision-making.
  • Work with operational teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, analyze and reconcile stock-takes, and prepare monthly stock reports.
Financial Accounting Duties :
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
  • Assist with working capital planning and resource optimization.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance during audits and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate on developing and executing financial strategies supporting growth and profitability.
  • Support shareholder engagement by preparing financial reports and updates.
