The Group DS Lab is expanding, with available positions. The lab applies predictive analytics, machine learning, big data, and operations research to support key projects across the Group and its business units. We work in clinical, wellness, financial, sales, operational, people, and behavioral areas, utilizing modern analytics tools on large datasets within a big data architecture. We also explore new data sources and applications beyond traditional data science realms.
The Data Science Lab is a specialized team addressing challenges in health, life, and short-term insurance, as well as cross-group projects. We seek individuals with 2-5 years of experience for projects including:
We seek a creative, enthusiastic individual with the ability to prioritize, communicate effectively, and align with Discovery's values. Results-driven, curious, autonomous, and team-oriented professionals are ideal.
A Master's or PhD in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering. Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models to solve business problems, with proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with advanced algorithms like Gradient Boosting, Random Forests, or Neural Networks. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is required.
Experience with big data tools and a keen interest in healthcare, behavioral science, and risk management are advantageous.
