Group Human Resources Officer – Sandton, Johannesburg.

Lead HR Strategy at a Group Level – Shape Culture, Drive Transformation, and Enable Growth

This is a pivotal executive HR leadership role where you will own and drive the full human capital agenda—from strategic workforce planning and culture development to operational HR excellence and compliance. You will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer and play a vital role in shaping a high-performance, values-led culture across multiple business units.

Salary: R70 000 – R85 000 CTC per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organisational Psychology (Honours or Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ senior HR leadership experience in a multi-site or multi-entity environment
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional HR initiatives at scale
  • Deep understanding of South African labour law, HR governance, and MIBCO regulations
  • Experience managing BBBEE strategy, SETA compliance, and equity planning
  • Demonstrated success in leading HR teams, coaching senior management, and driving business transformation through people
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms, reporting tools, and digital HR systems
  • Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with operational execution

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of an integrated HR strategy that aligns with business growth objectives
  • Collaborate with the executive team to shape organisational design and drive change initiatives
  • Build and mentor a high-performing HR team to support the evolving needs of the business
  • Lead talent acquisition and succession planning initiatives to ensure future workforce readiness
  • Oversee the rollout of a new Learning & Development Centre, including accredited internal leadership tracks
  • Champion a culture of accountability, inclusion, and performance excellence
  • Ensure governance and compliance with all labour laws, health & safety frameworks, and union agreements (MIBCO)
  • Own the BBBEE strategy, leveraging SETA partnerships, learnerships, and transformation initiatives
  • Implement scalable HR systems and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making
  • Provide strategic counsel to business leaders on workforce planning, change readiness, and employee relations
