Mineral Rights Manager

The incumbent will provide legal and compliance support and advice to Glencore Coal SA regarding Mineral Rights, including liaising with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy.

The role also involves overseeing the coordination of Social Labour Plans, Mining Charter compilations, reporting, and BBBEE verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing legal and compliance advice related to mining and mineral resources activities.
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Identifying, compiling, and updating the legal and statutory frameworks.
  • Maintaining the legal document repository.
  • Lodging relevant mining applications and objections.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
  • A management qualification is advantageous.
  • Post-articles or Mining Rights Manager experience in a corporate or mineral rights environment.
  • Understanding of the Mineral Petroleum and Resources Development Act, 28 of [year], as amended, and the Mining Titles Registration Act, 16 of [year].
  • Knowledge of DMRE processes, MPRD Act, BBBEE Act, Mining Charter, and related legislation.
  • Experience in legal compliance reporting.
