Our client requires the services of a Direct Business Sales Consultant at their head office based in Johannesburg. The role focuses on growing their core business portfolio by engaging and onboarding new business clients, ensuring customer-centric sales and commercial decisions aligned with customer experience strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Source leads or potential clients by hunting and cultivating relationships with third parties, partner companies, and existing clients.
- Generate and convert self-sourced leads through referrals, networks, and research.
- Proactively identify sources of business to acquire new subscriptions.
- Develop a pipeline through referrals, online marketing, word of mouth, and networking with current clients.
- Present, promote, and sell products to existing and potential customers, ensuring offerings meet client needs.
- Follow up on leads and engage regularly with current and prospective customers.
- Ensure accuracy of client documentation and manage requirements accordingly.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge to facilitate meaningful customer conversations.
- Report sales activities to management weekly.
- Provide feedback on sales strategies, brand enhancement, and opportunities to deliver greater customer value.
- Conduct needs analysis and interact with clients according to client-first principles to better understand their requirements.
- Implement sales approaches aligned with the Customer Value Proposition framework, applying individual techniques to proactively engage prospects.
- Plan and execute work to meet service level agreements, standards, and turnaround times.
- Follow sales processes to accurately process customer documentation.
- Remain up-to-date with FAIS disclosure requirements, ensuring compliance with accreditation, service fees, and commissions.
- Maintain records as required by FAIS and FICA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislative requirements such as the Code of Banking Practice, National Credit Act, and Consumer Protection Act.
- Adhere to internal risk policies and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or related field (NQF 6).
- FAIS accreditation advantageous.
- RE5 accreditation advantageous.
- At least 3 years in a B2B sales environment.
- Relevant business development experience is a plus.
- Own transport and valid driver’s license.
