Job Description
Overview and Purpose of the Role :

Our business product offering has grown significantly over the years, leading to the development of the face-to-face channel. The OUTsurance Broker role has emerged to facilitate this model.

The incumbent will be responsible for growing and developing the business insurance portfolio.

The key outputs for this role are as follows :
  1. New Business sales
  2. Client service and management
  3. High-level performance

The OUTsurance Broker must align with the company’s culture and values, including Awesome Service, Passionate, Honest, Human, Dynamic, and Recognition.

Responsibilities :
Build your own insurance portfolio by :
  • Prospecting for new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk evaluations for clients.
  • Providing solutions by selling OUTsurance short-term products aligned with client needs.
  • Drafting, tracking, and measuring personal business plans.
  • Providing ongoing service and support to clients (amendments, renewals, claims, etc.).
  • Retaining existing business, including renewal discussions in line with FAIS.
  • Developing relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Continuously building the client base to secure future income.
  • Staying informed about changes and developments in the commercial insurance market.
  • Achieving and exceeding targets consistently.
  • Providing feedback to management when requested.
  • Attending weekly and ad hoc team meetings.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as underwriting, actuarial, claims, and surveying teams.
  • Adhering to quality standards and measures.
Qualifications
  • Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • FAIS credits / Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA)
  • RE5 (depending on DOFA)
  • Reliable transport and a valid code B driver’s license
  • At least 3 years of external sales experience (if not from the insurance industry)
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  • Numerical and mathematical skills
