Job description

Racing Distribution has an exciting opportunity available for a Returns Controller to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. The successful incumbents will be responsible for effectively and efficiently manage the Returns, storage and destruction of publications. Ensure that the actual returns balance to the CO1s and CO7s daily and weekly and that all monies are accounted for and correct – any shortages must be reported immediately to the RM who will attend to shortages accordingly. Hand helds must be downloaded daily and uploaded weekly. Quality checks on hand held units and printers must be done weekly. Follow up with collections to ensure that they are up to date. Assist with chasing up outstanding waybills on a daily basis. Ensure that there is compliance with all policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls. Transportation of team members when required or stock deliveries to branches. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is done accurately and timeously and contains appropriate content to enable effective decision making. Ensure achievement of company’s strategic objectives, goal plans and targets.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Valid South African Driver’s License code 10 with PrPD.
  • 3 Years’ experience with distribution
  • 3 Years Transport and Logistics Experience
  • Strong Administration Skills
  • Understanding of the supply chain process
  • Geographical knowledge

Responsibilities

Financial Metrics/Operational Duties

  • Accurate and timeous submission of information to Regional Manager for billing purposes.
  • Establishing and implementing internal controls to safe guard company assets
  • Assist with ensuring that stock is moved according to the dispatch schedule factoring in ad hoc requests
  • Assist with scheduling vehicles/and staff for transportation.
  • Monitoring of unfilled deliveries
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the Returns, storage and destruction of publications.
  • Ensure that the actual returns balance to the CO1s and CO7s daily and weekly and that all monies are accounted for and correct – any shortages must be reported immediately to the RM who will attend to shortages accordingly.
  • Hand helds must be downloaded daily and uploaded.
  • Quality checks on handheld units and printers must be done daily.
  • Ensure all handhelds are charged and ready for use the following day
  • Follow up with collections to ensure that they are up to date.
  • Assist with chasing up outstanding waybills on a daily basis.
  • Physically count the stock/books that have been returned by the drivers/collectors.
  • Ensure all queries are resolved timeously.
  • Ensure all reports are completed before the deadline.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the safety of the vehicle and its cargo.
  • The incumbent is responsible for carrying out pre on route and post trip roadworthy inspections using the prescribed forms set by the business and reporting any defects found.
  • The incumbent is expected to carry out any other duties, responsibilities or lawful instructions given to him or her by a supervisor or manager.
