Job description

Open Ground Resources is an expert geophysical consultancy with more than 20 years of experience specializing in the provision and utilization of geophysical techniques such as Seismic Refraction, MASW, and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) to facilitate the needs of the civil, environmental, and mining engineering industries.

We have openings for two full-time or contract geotechnicians to assist with fieldwork and acquisition of high-quality geophysical data.

Job Description:

The main duties will be on-site data acquisition using a variety of geophysical techniques. Other duties related to this will include logistics, SHE compliance, and coordination with local workforce assisting with the main duties. The applicant must be willing to travel, medically fit, and have good driving skills.

Requirements:

·Diploma/BSc in Geology / Earth Science / Geophysics or a similar qualification.

·South African resident or in possession of a valid work permit.

·Own transport and willingness to relocate to Pretoria / Tshwane where the main office resides.

·Knowledge or experience in the operation and use of geophysical instruments and GPS systems will be advantageous.

·Able to work with others with good teamwork skills and clear communication is critical to success.
