Job Description

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing GRID’s data architecture to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence needs across our digital platforms.

This role ensures that data is structured, stored, and accessed in a way that maximizes efficiency, security, and scalability, and is available in real-time.

The Data Architect will lead GRiD’s data management strategy, focusing on the design of data models, integration of diverse data sources, and creation of a unified data ecosystem that supports both operational and analytical needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Data Architecture Design & Development: Develop, implement, and optimize scalable data architecture solutions, including data lakes, warehouses, and data marts, supporting analytics and machine learning.
  2. Design data models for transactional and analytical processes, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  3. Define and enforce data governance, lineage, metadata, and quality standards.
  1. Data Integration & ETL/ELT Processes: Manage ETL/ELT processes, integrating data from multiple sources, and build robust data pipelines for seamless data flow.
  2. Ensure near real-time data processing to enhance responsiveness.
  1. Data Management & Centralization: Establish a centralized data management system and create a data catalog for easy access.
  1. Data Security & Compliance: Implement data security frameworks, ensuring compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations.
  2. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to safeguard sensitive data.
  1. Performance Optimization & Monitoring: Monitor and optimize data architecture performance and develop data metrics and reporting systems.
  1. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support: Work with data science, analytics, and BI teams to understand their needs and translate them into architectural solutions.
  2. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, aligning data architecture with business goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Database Management is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Proven expertise in large-scale data solutions across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and centralization for analytics.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and tools like Talend, Informatica, Apache Spark.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and big data tech (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Knowledge of data governance, security standards, and privacy regulations.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
