Key Purpose:
Coordinate daily activities of the Utilities team including resource planning and capacity, equipment availability, scheduling of shutdowns with system leads, event reporting, escalation of issues and equipment monitoring.
Tasks And Duties:
- Oversee all site operations, delegating tasks and guiding workers based on their individual talent to create the most effective working environment possible
- Manage contractors and service providers at site level
- Create written reports detailing project progress and operational success, including suggestions for improvement
- Present operational reports at monthly ops meetings, answering inquiries and providing information
- Assign special projects to individual employees, creating project teams and providing all necessary information
- Directs and coordinates daily activities of utilities operators (event reporting, escalate issues, define shift schedule, etc)
- Supports & develops continuous improvement initiatives both internal to the utilities operations department as well as the capabilities of the process systems we service
- Identify criticality in utilities system and support to improve their reliability
- Oversee efficiency of operational processes
- Research methods to improve operations and reduce costs
- Assist with supervising and train employees
- Provide administrative support (e.g. updating inventory)
- Manage all stock on site and at the various municipalities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulation
- Working closely with different stakeholders (Utilities SMEs, manufacturing)
- Trouble shooting and technical issue resolution
- On-site contractor management
- Engagement with the relevant municipality/ies
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- A degree in operations management
- Certificate of competence recognized by the government or equivalent is a plus
Ideal:
- A 3-year degree coupled with a technical specification
- Project management certificate
Training:
Minimum:
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to considerable full-time employment in the maintenance and repair of utility service
Ideal:
- Qualified artisan (electrical)
