MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To assume overall responsibility for the effective operations and profitability of the branch. To actively sell African Bank products and ensure sales targets and growth are achieved. To provide supervision to subordinates.
Key Performance Inputs/Activities
- Achievement of all Sales Targets & Growth
- Sell, promote, and market the bank's products to ensure:
- Retention of existing clients
- Acquisition of new clients
- Reactivation of dormant clients
- Achieve sales targets as set by management
- Performance of Sales Activities
- Promote and sell new products introduced by the bank
- Make sales calls to clients (Tele-Sales)
- Generate sales leads
- Follow up and make appointments with prospective clients
- Follow up on the status of workflow and applications
- Keep clients informed about loan application statuses
- Application Administration and Costs
- Capture loan applications accurately
- Check documentation for accuracy, authenticity, compliance, and completeness
- Capture all client information precisely
- Suspend or reject applications as needed and re-quote when necessary
- Explain the loan application process to clients
- Explain terms and conditions of bank products
- Issue copies of contracts/agreements
- Print and process loan agreements for signatures
- Sales Focus - Achieve branch growth, revenue, and expense targets
- Manage branch profit & loss and budget
- Identify critical success factors for customer acquisition and retention
- Leverage bank products and technology to deepen opportunities
- Collaborate with Trade Area Manager on strategies and campaigns
- Manage customer relationships and develop new business within the community
- Create and execute marketing plans to meet growth goals
- Oversee the entire sales lifecycle from lead to disbursement
- Engage in sales activities like check-ins and huddles
- Ensure sales goals are met at both branch and individual levels
- Promote cross-selling and relationship deepening
- Represent the bank in community organizations
- Maintain data integrity and provide guidance to sales staff
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and internal policies
- Monitor and evaluate risks, making recommendations as needed
- Implement strategies for operational integrity
- Adhere to internal audit standards

- Complete monthly audits and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure safety and health standards
- Manage risk related to bad rates and deal errors
- Ensure compliance with FAIS and other regulatory requirements
People Management and Development
- Train and develop staff, conduct performance reviews, and coaching
- Recruit and terminate staff with HR support
- Identify high-potential staff and foster team spirit
- Support training initiatives and manage knowledge scores
Customer Service
- Build relationships with clients, understand needs, and exceed expectations
- Maintain professional communication and a positive image
Minimum Education
NQF6, RE5
Minimum Experience
5-10 years in management/oversight in financial services, with full product category accreditation
