Job description

A high-impact investment group is looking for a Compliance and Legal Counsel to play a pivotal role in managing compliance risks and legal processes across its diverse investment portfolio - which spans banking, financial, telecoms, agriculture, and mining.

Responsibilities:

Compliance

  • Monitor, test, and report on group-wide compliance
  • Build and implement the regulatory universe and compliance monitoring plan
  • Provide regulatory advice and guidance to senior management
  • Handle submissions, notifications, and responses to regulatory bodies
  • Lead incident reporting and drive remedial action planning
  • Ensure FICA/AML compliance and manage industry engagements

Legal

  • Draft and review constitutional documents, shareholder agreements, SLAs, and funding instruments
  • Support transaction implementation, including resolutions and condition precedent schedules
  • Provide general legal support across business units
  • Assist with internal policy development and governance

Requirements:

  • LLB Degree
  • Admitted Attorney
  • 4-6 Years of Legal and Compliance Regulatory experience, including Mergers and Acquisitions experience - non negotiable
  • Proven track record in legal drafting, compliance risk management, and regulatory engagement
