Position: Snr Business Data Manager

Job Purpose: To provide data management services for the client data domain for RBB. Ensure a complete view of client data throughout the cluster, inform and implement the decisions of the data governance council. Support and maintain the data governance process and delivery in line with the data governance framework, and provide data analysis through strategic and operational support.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Managing and resolving data incidents; performing root cause analysis.
  2. Defining data strategy and processes.
  3. Contributing to a culture conducive to transformation goals, participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys).
  4. Supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with key business strategies.
  5. Identifying and recommending opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and policies; supporting their implementation.
  6. Delivering work according to customer expectations by prioritizing, planning, and implementing requirements.
  7. Utilizing resources by adhering to standards, policies, and procedures.
  8. Aligning and continuously improving processes by identifying innovation opportunities.
  9. Identifying and mitigating risks within governance frameworks.
  10. Resolving incidents by logging and tracking through correct channels.
  11. Ensuring work adheres to relevant data standards.
  12. Staying informed of legislation and industry changes impacting the role.
  13. Understanding and embracing Nedbank's vision and demonstrating company values.
  14. Enhancing personal capabilities through training, feedback, and certifications.
  15. Providing accurate information to stakeholders and sharing knowledge within the team.
  16. Supporting business units with consulting services related to data and information.
Minimum Experience Level:

5 – 7 years in a data managing role, specifically within banking or financial industry, with knowledge of data management principles.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Advanced Diplomas / First Degrees (e.g., BSc in Computer Science / Information Technology).
Preferred Certifications:
  • Data Management (DAMA) Certification.
