Our client who specializes in off brand monitoring for the security industry is seeking a CCTV Operator to join their team in Johannesburg.

The CCTV Operator will be responsible for monitoring and managing the security camera systems to ensure the safety and security of the premises. This role involves real-time surveillance, incident reporting, and maintaining the integrity of security operations.

POSITION INFO :

Key Responsibilities :

• Surveillance Monitoring : Continuously monitor CCTV cameras to detect and report any suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Incident Reporting : Document and report any incidents or irregularities observed during surveillance, including maintaining accurate logs of all activities.
• System Management : Operate and manage CCTV systems, including handling any technical issues or malfunctions and coordinating with technical support when necessary.
• Communication : Communicate effectively with security personnel, emergency services, and management to relay critical information and assist with investigations.
• Access Control : Assist with monitoring access control systems and ensure that only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
• Compliance : Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to privacy and surveillance.
• Emergency Response : Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, coordinating with on-site security staff to manage and resolve issues.
• Record Maintenance : Ensure proper storage and management of recorded footage, including retrieval and preparation of video evidence when required.
• Equipment Maintenance : Regularly check and maintain the functionality of CCTV equipment, reporting any issues or deficiencies.

Qualifications :

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in security or surveillance systems is a plus.
• Experience : Previous experience in a security or surveillance role is preferred. Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring techniques is highly desirable.
• Skills : Strong observational and analytical skills.Proficient in operating CCTV and related security systems.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.Basic technical skills for troubleshooting and maintaining CCTV equipment.
