Job Details
  • Location: Remote - Travel to TERACO Data Centre in Kempton Park, JHB, after-hours standby required
  • Salary: R45 - R55 per month
  • Position: Linux System Administrator
Role Overview

You will ensure the reliable, efficient, and secure operation of the organisation's computer systems and networks.

Requirements
  • RedHat or LPI Qualification
  • 2 years Linux Administration experience
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and macOS systems
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
  1. Assist with ISO tasks related to DevOps where required.
  2. Installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and software systems, including servers, storage devices, networks, and applications.
  3. Monitor system performance and resolve issues such as network connectivity problems or server crashes.
  4. Conduct regular backups and test disaster recovery plans to ensure data safety and system reliability.
  5. Manage user accounts and permissions, create and maintain system documentation, and implement security policies and procedures.
  6. Evaluate new technologies and software products for organisational needs.
  7. Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot problems with systems or applications.
  8. Maintain software licenses and ensure compliance with regulations.
  9. Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate threats.
  10. Implement and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and other devices.
  11. Collaborate with IT professionals and stakeholders to align technology infrastructure with business goals.
  12. Monitor internal communication groups for assistance and provide desktop support as needed.
  13. Set up new employee hardware and software, and conduct audits for compliance.
  14. Follow company policies, procedures, and protocols.
  15. Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by management.
