CATEGORY / FUNCTION INTRODUCTION

Customer Development (CD) is what we call our Sales organization at Unilever.

Customer Development works closely with our customers to pioneer new products, build categories, and deploy best-in-class retail and shopper capabilities.

Job Purpose

Lead in Market Plan execution (aligned to BU Strategy), localize category growth strategies, and execute strategically aligned commercial plans in the market.

Decide channel/customer prioritization and deploy budgets accordingly.

Lead core capabilities and objective customer engagement (Catman / Shopper / NRM).

Execute locally and integrate Channel & Customer upstream into BU (D4C / D4R).

Main Responsibilities
  • Localize and deploy category growth strategies at channel and customer levels.
  • Collaborate with Brand, CMI, NRM, and Shopper Marketing to build customer sell-in.
  • Define national innovation and launch plans for channels/customers.
  • Track USG targets and investments to deliver BG strategy by channel and customer.
  • Manage pricing, promotions, and mix.
  • Own L4 and L5 NRM targets.
  • Deploy commercial plans and launch initiatives to ensure strong execution.
  • Develop and deploy core capabilities required to win by channel and customer.
Experiences & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Marketing or Sales in FMCG industry.
  • BComm degree (preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, or Financial majors).
  • Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork.
  • Strong insight and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Nielsen, PowerBI, or customer platforms like Dunnhumby or PnP info hub is advantageous.
