About the Position

A well-established international trading company, successfully executing contracts with African Power Utilities for the past 8 years, is strengthening its procurement department in Johannesburg. We are seeking a self-driven, ambitious, and hardworking individual looking for growth prospects.

This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the growth of the company's trading operations across Africa.

Non-negotiable Requirements

• Must reside near Fourways as this is a permanent, onsite position.
• Electrical Engineering Qualification is essential.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated work experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Practical field experience in a mine or electrical plant is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct market and product research to expand the supplier database for goods and services.
2. Research market pricing models, stay updated on commodity prices, and new energy sector products.
3. Travel within Africa, China, and India for factory evaluations, assessing capacity, technical competence, and product quality.
4. Negotiate contracts covering price, delivery, specifications, and compliance; prepare data for tenders.
5. Perform Factory Acceptance Tests and third-party evaluations before contractual deliveries.
6. Coordinate with factories, transporters, and shipping agents to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel abroad and engage in a technical, commercial role.
• Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers.
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills for administrative tasks.
