Job description

Role Purpose / Business Unit

To manage strategic key accounts, maintain long-term & healthy relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, with the primary objective of driving profitable and long-term revenue growth, customer experience & satisfaction, and increased market share on the respective portfolio.

This is achieved through effective service delivery, protection / renewal of existing business, and identifying new sales opportunities across various product and solution offerings.

Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Sales & Stakeholder Management
  2. Developing and implementing account strategies to meet financial targets, including revenue, connections for voice and data, market share, and net margin contribution, along with managing the P&L.
  3. Serving as the primary relationship owner for the portfolio, building long-term relationships with key decision makers / influencers up to C Level, leveraging these relationships to create value and new business opportunities.
  4. Understanding customer needs and requirements thoroughly.
  5. Driving revenue growth by identifying potential markets for new and existing products and services.
  6. Retaining and growing business by identifying major new sales opportunities.
  7. Developing strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
  8. Influencing Vodacom SA / Group Account sponsors and decision makers to secure resources and ensure timely delivery.
  9. Ensuring effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  10. Collaborating with all functions within Vodacom to drive the Premier client network agenda and ensure alignment.
  11. Preparing and sharing an Account Plan with stakeholders.
  12. Maintaining a Complex Sales road map for each opportunity.
  13. Managing escalated customer complaints from a service perspective.
  14. Proactively resolving sales and pricing claims on trading accounts.
  15. Supporting finance in recovering overdue and non-payments.
  16. Ensuring timely delivery of the correct products and services based on customer needs.
  17. Acting as the communication link between customers and internal teams.
  18. Resolving customer issues and complaints to maintain trust.
  19. Generating new sales to foster long-lasting relationships.
  20. Communicating progress on initiatives to stakeholders.
Reporting
  • Analyzing customer and market trends to provide accurate revenue forecasts.
  • Preparing monthly / weekly demand management reports.
  • Performing sales analysis by product.
  • Planning annual sales strategy and budget.
  • Reporting progress and forecasts using key account metrics.
  • Forecasting and tracking key account metrics.
  • Reporting on account status and providing recommendations to maximize sales, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Ensuring revenue assurance across all subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • A Post Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Commerce, or related field is advantageous.
  • At least 7 years of sales and service experience in telecommunications or technology-related environments (ICT), with demonstrated experience in:
  • Portfolio management
  • Improving NPS results and reducing administrative expenses

  • Experience in solution selling within enterprise customers.
  • Deep understanding of the customer's business, market, industry, and key decision-makers.
  • Ability to translate customer objectives into Vodacom Business propositions.
  • Track record of managing multi-industry and multi-tower sales with profitable revenue growth.
  • Ability to influence at C-level.
