Start Date: As Soon As Possible / Immediate

Requirements: N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Qualified Electrician - Red Seal with a 3 Phase Wireman's License, PLC Installation and Programming (advantageous), Experience in wiring, PLC programming, electrical drawings, and electrical maintenance, Must be qualified, own transport, and hold a Red Seal qualification.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage production staff and oversee their daily activities.
  2. Cost new designs, establish Bill of Materials (BOM), process data, and layouts for manufacturing.
  3. Continuously assess raw material prices from suppliers and sub-contractors.
  4. Approve orders for all bulk materials based on current stock levels and projections.
  5. Control quality costs and conduct final inspection and approval of products.
  6. Ensure personnel are trained and qualified; identify and arrange training needs.
  7. Improve personnel skills and promote self-discipline according to company policies.
  8. Foster communication and coordination within the company.
  9. Ensure staff work according to targets.
  10. Handle disciplinary actions and hearings per company policy.
  11. Manage HR functions: recruitment, termination, staff planning.
  12. Handle union issues and maintain industrial relations.
  13. Maintain accurate personnel records.
  14. Ensure a safe workplace; chair safety meetings; investigate injuries and incidents.
  15. Safety Responsibilities: Ensure staff use safety equipment, maintain overalls, investigate injuries, report hazards, conduct safety inspections, and compile reports.
  16. Oversee electrical maintenance: tools, machinery, welding equipment, DB boards.
  17. Ensure compliance with safety rules; address non-conformances; escalate unresolved issues.
  18. Develop process improvements to maintain safety standards.
  19. Stock Taking: Monitor consumables and wires; assist with monthly stock take; record keeping.
  20. Housekeeping: Ensure cleanliness of workstations and restrooms; organize material flow.
  21. Special Needs: Design/program PLCs and TSC; design/test switchboards; perform electrical design/drafting with CAD, Revit, SketchUp.
  22. Willing to work extra hours; own transport required.

Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
