Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Security Platform Engineer is an advanced subject matter expert, responsible for facilitating problem resolution and mentoring for the overall team.

This role involves operational security tasks such as performance and availability monitoring, log monitoring, security incident detection and response, security event reporting, and content maintenance (tuning).

The Senior Security Platform Engineer is responsible for detecting and monitoring escalated threats and suspicious activity affecting the organization's technology domain (servers, networks, appliances, and all infrastructure supporting production applications for the enterprise, as well as development environments).

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a global CSIRT team that operates 24/7 on rotational shifts.
• Handle platform and content engineering tasks including tuning, stakeholder requests, escalations, reporting, and training.
• Administer NTT Data security tools to gather security logs, manage the security tools' lifecycle, including patching and updates.
• Follow SOPs and notify stakeholders of log flow or format issues.
• Document best practices and identify automation opportunities to assist incident response.
• Handle security incidents from various vectors including endpoint protection, detection and response tools, attack analysis, malware analysis, network forensics, and general security infrastructure.
• Perform maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Utilize knowledge articles for incident diagnosis and resolution, updating them as needed.
• Monitor service delivery against SLAs and maintain relevant records.
• Investigate incident causes and seek resolutions; escalate unresolved incidents and follow up until resolution.
• Provide service recovery and document incident closure.
• Identify root causes and assist with implementing remedies and preventative measures.
• Maintain knowledge of specialized areas and provide detailed advice on their application.
• Ensure comprehensive incident resolution, coordinating with product teams and stakeholders.
• Log incidents with detailed information promptly.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, carriers, and colleagues to expedite error diagnosis and resolution.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Networking certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, ACCA, PCNSA, CCSA are preferred.
• Security certifications like AZ-500, SC-200, Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM are advantageous.

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience with security technologies (Firewall, IPS, IDS, Proxy, etc.).
• Experience with Fortigate, FortiManager, FortiAuthenticator, FortiWeb, FortiAnalyzer, Zscaler, and DDoS mitigation.
• Proven support experience for clients and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience handling security incidents end-to-end and supporting SOC/CSIRT operations.
• Knowledge of networking, Linux, and security concepts.
• Experience configuring and managing security controls like Firewall, IDS/IPS, EDR, NDR, UTM, Proxy, SOAR, HoneyPots.
• Knowledge of log collection mechanisms such as Syslog, log files, and APIs.
• Understanding of security architecture and engineering principles.
