The IIE Varsity College, Nelson Mandela Bay Campus, has a vacancy for a Bachelor of Computer and Information Science in Applications Development Lecturer.

Position

Part-Time - School of Computer Science Lecturer

Location

Gqeberha / Port Elizabeth, at the Varsity College - Nelson Mandela Bay Campus

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and deliver lectures, engaging students in active learning based on module-specific requirements and module pacers.
  2. Update the learning management system and provide feedback to students.
  3. Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at-risk students, and monitor engagement.
  4. Attend academic meetings and development workshops.
  5. Complete professional development interventions annually to enhance teaching practices and personal academic status.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  1. Honours degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
  2. Honours in relevant fields or a bachelor’s degree with third-year modules in related areas, plus a postgraduate diploma in a related field or education.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  1. 1-2 years of lecturing or tutoring experience (advantageous).
  2. 1-3 years of industry experience or in the area of specialization (advantageous).
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with face-to-face classes scheduled Monday to Friday from 08h20 to 16h40. Working hours depend on assigned modules.
