Location : South Africa - % Remote / Home Working (Must permanently live in South Africa & have the right to work without restrictions to apply for this role)

Pay Rate : $5.50

Contract : 12-month initial contract (Highly likely to be extended, but no guarantees) - Self-employed contractor.

The Role : Content Writer - Translator (Sepedi)

You'll join a team of passionate teachers working to create Twinkl's online Sepedi content for teachers across South Africa.

Most of your time will be spent working with other Content Writers and Editors.

Your weekly activities could include :

1. Translating resources into Sepedi to support teaching and learning across the curriculum.
2. Giving and responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard.
3. Using your knowledge of Sepedi to support the team with their resource content.
4. Meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their Sepedi expertise.

This position is remote with flexible hours, requiring good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration, and ongoing CPD, particularly during the training period.

To succeed in the role, you will :

• Have completed a degree in Sepedi, translation, or similar.
• Have translation or teaching experience with good references.
• Be a fantastic communicator who thrives in a close-knit team.
• Be fluent in English and Sepedi (written, reading, and writing).
• Be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and G Suite.
• Have a drive for continuous professional development.

In this role, you will learn how to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.

You will need access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload.

You will be responsible for supplying and maintaining your own IT equipment if working remotely.

You'll work with :

• The SA production team.
• Your own direct Line Manager.
• Our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit, and produce content.
• Our in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce resources that Twinkl is known for.
