Key Responsibilities

Client Development and Sales Execution

• Grow and maintain a portfolio of import and export clients
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts across the Johannesburg market, with a particular focus on the mineral and ores export segment
  
  

Marketing And Commercial Strategy

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to guide strategic decisions
• Support the implementation of the commercial strategy
• Be the key interlocutor at branch level for the promotion of VAS to the full client portfolio by the who commercial team
  
  

Operational and Cross-functional Support

• Collaborate with customer service and other teams to enhance customer experience and resolve issues effectively.
• Establish and maintain a direct functional report to the Regional Commercial Manager to ensure compliance with group and regional initiatives
  
  

Administrative And Performance Management

• Ensure all customer visit planning and post-meeting notes are put in the CRM system
• Maintain proper filing and documentation on customer files, quotations, and visit notes.
  
  

Team Engagement And Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company policies and professional standards
• Prepare and participate in weekly marketing and operational meetings to drive any local issues
  
  

Must Have

• Matric + minimum 10 years’ extensive ships agency and commercial shipping experience.
• Tertiary qualification in sales, marketing, or commerce (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of trade lanes, especially Far East.
• Sales and marketing training and certifications.
• Strong relationship management experience.
• Advanced computer literacy – Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
