Job description

General Manager: Consumer, Digital and Business Delivery

The GM of Consumer, Digital, and Business Delivery provides vision and technical leadership for Digital, BSS, and Fintech within the Information business unit.

Responsibilities include ensuring customer-focused improvements across digital channels, setting standards for customer experience, and working with various departments to meet these standards. The role involves developing frameworks and content for use within MTN, maintaining operational procedures, and resolving operational issues promptly.

Key activities encompass evaluating customer data and contact trends, designing recommendations for digital development, and overseeing the baseline of digital customer experiences to track improvements. The GM promotes a culture of innovation, reviews customer journeys for consistency, manages engagement with product owners, and leads outbound customer communications to drive engagement and channel shift.

Financial responsibilities include forecasting, planning, and reviewing CAPEX and OPEX budgets to ensure adherence and cost optimization. The role also involves identifying cost-saving opportunities related to infrastructure services.

People and culture management involve guiding staff, attracting and developing talent, setting KPIs, managing performance, coaching, fostering diversity, and building a positive organizational culture aligned with company values. The GM acts as a brand ambassador, promotes professionalism, and strives to make the workplace the best environment possible.

Qualifications include a minimum of a 4-year tertiary degree in Computer Sciences or related fields, with an MBA or Master’s preferred. Fluency in English and the local language is advantageous. Experience required includes managing executive-level teams for over 5 years, with at least 3 years in digital, BSS, and Fintech strategy within a global or multinational enterprise, preferably with exposure to emerging markets and diverse cultures.
