JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The purpose of the role is to ensure synergistic financial benefits across the key commodities within the portfolio.
  2. Support purchasing/product strategies to achieve improved operational profitability, lead time, OTIF, sell-through, quality, and cost for Jet.
  3. Strategically position the brand to increase market share in knit and knitwear commodities by engaging effectively with all key stakeholders.
  4. Manage the vendor base (local, regional, import) to ensure sustainable and compliant sourcing.
  5. Monitor supplier performance and capabilities, implementing remedial plans for underperformers.
  6. Collaborate with the local vendors task force to ensure Jet's success and growth in market share and sales.
  7. Align product development with cost requirements.
  8. Develop and implement global sourcing strategies and business partnerships, focusing on growth in local sourcing and reducing exposure to China and Southeast Asia.
  9. Map sourcing footprint to manage risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  10. Manage lean supply chains and track key cost drivers like fabric and components.
  11. Consolidate group requirements to offset inflationary pressures while meeting individual brand needs.
  12. Pre-select and approve international and local suppliers, managing vendor matrices.
  13. Identify key opportunities with buying teams and implement strategies aligned with brand requirements.
  14. Achieve key supply chain objectives such as leveraging group scale, increasing stock efficiencies, and optimizing margins.
  15. Assess suppliers objectively for sourcing decisions and ensure alignment with buying strategies.
  16. Manage critical paths and orders effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant diploma.
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Buyer or Sourcing Specialist.
  • Experience in knit and knitwear product development is essential.
  • Understanding of the clothing retail cycle and buying process.
  • Proficiency in computer software (Excel, Word, Email).
