JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- The purpose of the role is to ensure synergistic financial benefits across the key commodities within the portfolio.
- Support purchasing/product strategies to achieve improved operational profitability, lead time, OTIF, sell-through, quality, and cost for Jet.
- Strategically position the brand to increase market share in knit and knitwear commodities by engaging effectively with all key stakeholders.
- Manage the vendor base (local, regional, import) to ensure sustainable and compliant sourcing.
- Monitor supplier performance and capabilities, implementing remedial plans for underperformers.
- Collaborate with the local vendors task force to ensure Jet's success and growth in market share and sales.
- Align product development with cost requirements.
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies and business partnerships, focusing on growth in local sourcing and reducing exposure to China and Southeast Asia.
- Map sourcing footprint to manage risks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage lean supply chains and track key cost drivers like fabric and components.
- Consolidate group requirements to offset inflationary pressures while meeting individual brand needs.
- Pre-select and approve international and local suppliers, managing vendor matrices.
- Identify key opportunities with buying teams and implement strategies aligned with brand requirements.
- Achieve key supply chain objectives such as leveraging group scale, increasing stock efficiencies, and optimizing margins.
- Assess suppliers objectively for sourcing decisions and ensure alignment with buying strategies.
- Manage critical paths and orders effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant diploma.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a Buyer or Sourcing Specialist.
- Experience in knit and knitwear product development is essential.
- Understanding of the clothing retail cycle and buying process.
- Proficiency in computer software (Excel, Word, Email).
