Job description

Introduction

Van assistants assist the driver to deliver Delivery of all goods dispatched in a timeous, cost effective, and safe manner. To help the driver to load and unload goods from the truck.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assisting Driver to check and complete a full safety check and pre-trip inspection of the truck and the equipment issued for use
• Unloading the van and carrying the goods into the customer's premises and receiving area and if required, load goods that are being returned into the truck in a secure position to avoid damage in transit
• Following the correct handling of all products and equipment
• Ensuring the correct product with the correct quantity is delivered to the correct customer
• Guiding the driver to reverse and park safely in the correct off-loading zones
• Assisting Driver to check and complete a full post trip inspection of the vehicle and ensure all product or goods returned are properly debriefed. Ensure all equipment and pallets returned are off loaded for debriefing
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the trucks
  
  

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum of Grade 12
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
