Activity :
- Management of allocated projects with external resources such as contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, and approvals and inspections by local authorities.
- Organization: Engineering as a service provider to operations and marketing departments.
- Legal and HSEQ: Ensure compliance with local and group regulations and standards.
As a Project Engineer, you would be responsible for:
- Overseeing depots, service stations, and commercial customer installations—construction and engineering.
- Conducting project feasibility studies, preparing documentation, drawings, and recommendations.
- Submitting and obtaining approvals from national and local authorities, including MOC documentation.
- Guiding draftsmen or consultants in preparing construction drawings.
- Negotiating equipment supply and engineering contracts with service providers, in collaboration with the purchasing division.
- Planning, organizing, controlling, and executing field construction activities within the specified time and budget.
- Ensuring incorporation of local legislation, group standards, and best practices into all projects.
- Monitoring and evaluating project scope variations and associated costs.
- Providing regular project updates to the Technical Manager, including explanations for delays.
- Managing project documentation, preparing monthly expenditure reports, posting assets under construction, and controlling legal, municipal, and EIA approvals for legal and safety compliance.
- Ensuring safety regulations are followed on-site, and handling urgent operations like equipment replacement and safety issues.
- Performing asset inspections, conducting annual technical visits, and developing recommendations.
- Ensuring preventive maintenance according to schedules.
- Conducting audits and quality inspections to ensure standards compliance.
- Managing maintenance contracts in line with SLA agreements and handling outside work (e.g., NEMO).
- Anticipating investments for equipment replacement to improve availability and reduce costs.
- Advising clients on technical and regulatory obligations, and estimating upgrade costs.
- Managing budgets, purchase orders, and invoice payments.
- Maintaining good internal and external customer relations.
- Participating in asset sales, site dismantling, and remediation activities.
- Updating technical and asset data, and analyzing audit reports for corrective actions.
- Training site operators on equipment use and housekeeping.
- Supporting Business Performance Reviews and managing the Asset Under Construction (AUC) process.
HSSE:
- Managing and minimizing HSE risks by ensuring compliance with policies, rules, and legal requirements.
- Promoting a safe working environment and contributing to HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies.
- Enforcing HSE competency requirements within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or B.Tech in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, or relevant field.
- Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, especially in project management from start to finish.
- Technical expertise in applying technical know-how.
- High autonomy, problem-solving skills, and workload management capabilities.
- Proactive, available, with clear communication skills in English.
- Ability to work within a team comprising customers, purchasers, and head-office teams.
