The Functional Developer works closely with a team including project managers, business analysts, team leads, developers, and QA specialists. The role involves translating business requirements into system configurations within the Policy Administration System (PAS) such as OIPA.

This position helps develop analytical skills, industry expertise, and system design capabilities, becoming a subject matter expert over time. Responsibilities include:

1. Configuring and managing releases for Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA)
2. Maintaining and enhancing insurance industry and technical knowledge
3. Collaborating with teams to ensure system configurations meet business needs
4. Participating in self-directed learning in configuration syntax and insurance knowledge
5. Analyzing and resolving system issues to maintain data and process integrity

Requirements include a technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial studies, or equivalent experience, familiarity with XML, SQL, relational databases, and MS Office, and strong communication skills. Soft skills such as organization, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential.

Nice to have: 1-3 years of experience with OIPA or similar platforms, knowledge of insurance products, and familiarity with SDLC methodologies.
