Purpose Of The Role
Responsible for providing technical support, advice, and guidance for internal/external users of IT systems and applications, either directly or via communication channels. Responsible for installing and maintaining computer systems and networks to optimize functionality and leverage technology effectively.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience with data management and general hardware and software support.
- Grade 12
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- CompTIA Network+ Certification
- Valid driver's license
- Degree or Diploma in an ICT-related field (advantageous)
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- MCSA Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Qualification
- CCNA certified / Fortinet NSE4-7 (advantageous)
Minimum skills and knowledge
- Create user accounts using applicable applications.
- Troubleshoot software-related problems.
- Apply incident management procedures.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
- Support hardware and software platforms adopted by the company.
- Troubleshoot network-related problems.
Key Performance Activities
- Ensure ICT reporting aligns with standards, guidelines, and schedules.
- Install and configure ICT equipment and software (desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control systems, handheld devices, applications).
- Maintain desktops and laptops.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and resources.
- Identify and prepare old hardware for disposal per company policy.
- Support hardware and software issues.
- Provide first-level network support and escalate issues as needed.
- Add and set up new users on relevant systems.
- Record and resolve IT calls via the Help Desk.
- Provide expertise and advice to improve department effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain effective communication within the operation.
- Manage housekeeping tasks in data centers, UPS rooms, and offices.
- Monitor alerts.
- Manage costs, including implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Seek development opportunities (one intervention per quarter).
- Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legislation; report non-compliance.
- Model behavior consistent with the company's Safety, Health, and Environment Vision and Values.
- Maintain healthy relationships within and across teams, support colleagues, share knowledge, and communicate effectively.
- Manage own performance and complete tasks on time and to standard.
