Our client in the insurance space is looking for an experienced insurance salesperson who is strategic and result-driven to recruit, maintain, and develop sales representatives and brokers, and to set targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain sales and marketing plan
- Develop an integrated sales & marketing plan
- Implement and align marketing plan with regional plan and submit to management
- Review and update strategic plan regularly
- Compile reports on progress made on strategic plan
- Communicate strategic plan to sales representatives
Perform recruitment and selection process for sales representatives- Advertise and market representative positions through presentations
- Select applicants in accordance with FSCA requirements, implementing assessment and selection battery
Conduct training for sales representatives- Facilitate pre-course and post-course training
- Responsible for on-the-job assessment of representatives
Conduct coaching process- Provide technical support and motivation to representatives
- Coach representatives to improve selling skills
- Recognize performance through the performance management system
Conduct training for brokers- Ensure brokers have sufficient documentation (e.g., application forms)
- Handle administrative queries for brokers
- Review and advise on business methods of brokers
- Update brokers on products and services regularly
- Ensure brokers' software is up to date regarding products and services
- Build professional relationships with brokers
Identify and develop markets- Identify, penetrate, and develop new markets
- Maintain contacts with key decision-makers and industry resources
- Retain and grow market share in existing markets
- Manage business retention
- Conduct product presentations in the market
Maintain production targets and retain business- Ensure achievement of set production targets
- Maintain business retention
Comply with FAIS requirements- Supervise representatives rendering services under supervision
- Submit supervision evidence monthly
- Mentor and train supervisees on product knowledge
- Observe client meetings between representatives and clients
Compliance- Handle complaints
- Track number of complaints received, investigated, and referred for debarment hearings
Training and Awareness- Provide refresher and new product training
- Maintain record of advice and complete application forms
Formal Education- Matric
- Relevant qualification recognized by FSCA
Technical / Legal Certification- Regulatory Examination Level 5: Representatives
- Regulatory Examination Level 1: Key Individuals
- Class of Business (Long Term Insurance and Investments)
Experience- At least 1 year of management and oversight experience in specified categories and retail pension funds
- 2 years in the insurance industry
- At least 1 year of advice and intermediary experience in relevant categories
