Job Description: Bookkeeper with Sage and ACCPAC Experience

Are you experienced with SAGE People and ACCPAC? Do you have at least 3 years' experience in bookkeeping within the retail industry, managing multiple sites? If so, read on and apply.

The Role

To provide hands-on financial administration and bookkeeping support across a group of 3-5 sites within a Cluster in the East Rand region. The role ensures transactional integrity, reconciliations, cost control, and supports financial compliance at site level.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly site financial records (cash-ups, EFTs, float management).
  2. Process and verify supplier invoices, stock receipts, fuel purchases, and cost of sales entries.
  3. Maintain relevant in-house systems.
  4. Assist in monthly stocktakes and ensure financial accuracy of stock movement reports.
  5. Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts for site-based suppliers or third parties.
  6. Assist with payroll input collation (timesheets, overtime, absenteeism data).
  7. Submit month-end packs to Finance Business Partner, including commentary on anomalies.
  8. Support Cluster Manager with budget input and spend tracking.
  9. Ensure all finance policies, controls, and documentation procedures are adhered to.
  10. Provide training and support to site admin clerks and ensure financial record keeping is standardized.
  11. Flag risks or variances (e.g., shrinkage, supplier discrepancies) and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Finance / Bookkeeping or similar (NQF 5-6).
  • 3+ years' experience in retail / service station bookkeeping.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, accounting systems, and point-of-sale (POS) understanding.
  • Experience with Sage People (Payroll) and ACCPAC accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and confident in dealing with multiple sites.
  • Own reliable vehicle required for travel between sites (reimbursement of travel as per SARS rates).
