Role Overview

African Parks is a South African non-profit conservation organization responsible for rehabilitating and managing national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. Since its founding in 2000, AP manages 23 national parks and protected areas across 13 countries, covering 20 million hectares.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Law Enforcement Training and Mentoring: Provide training, mentoring, and empowerment to park-based Field Operations Managers, Heads of Law Enforcement, Park Instructors, and Law Enforcement teams. This includes delivering basic, refresher, leadership/mentoring, and specialist training aligned with African Parks Standard Operating Procedures and Law Enforcement training packages.
2. Advisory Role: Advise Regional Operations Managers and Park Managers on law enforcement matters.
3. Capability Development: Support the Head of Law Enforcement in developing and implementing Law Enforcement Standard Operating Procedures and training manuals.
4. Program Quality and Compliance: Ensure the quality and compliance of the Law Enforcement program through audits, supervision of consultants, and equipment reviews.
