Job description

• Lead and manage the full spectrum of financial services within the division.
• Review and interpret monthly management accounts and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct operational analyses to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Manage working capital including debtors, creditors, and inventory.
• Oversee payroll, statutory payments, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure supply chain and financial targets are met.
• Supervise treasury operations, banking profiles, and foreign exchange contracts (FECs).
• Prepare annual financial reporting packs and implement relevant IFRS updates.
• Manage procurement, inventory levels, stock control, and supplier / customer master data.
• Compile, consolidate, and manage budget templates and forecasts.
• Provide analytical support for strategic projects and ad-hoc financial requests.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) essential.
• Previous experience in a wholesale / retail concern is highly advantageous
• Knowledge of forex accounting, forex hedging, FEC's and imports is essential
• Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in financial management.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, South African financial regulations, VAT, and corporate tax.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Background in project environments will be advantageous.
• Proven success in financial analysis, cost control, internal controls, and corporate governance.
• Strong technical and financial acumen with excellent analytical abilities.
• Proficient in compiling accurate, insightful business reports.
• Able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
