Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with PV systems (100 kW – 2 MW).

• Experience with permitting, utilities, and AHJs preferred.

Solar Project Engineer

Salary: R40 000-R45 000

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer PV systems from concept to construction
• Draft and review electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, wiring schedules, and system specifications
• Manage the utility interconnection process (applications, communication, timelines)
• Integrate monitoring platforms like AlsoEnergy, SolarEdge, and Energy Toolbase into system designs and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and utility regulations
• Provide technical support during permitting, construction, commissioning, and O&M handover
• Coordinate with EPC partners, field engineers, and project managers to ensure aligned execution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field OR proven experience in solar PV engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience with PV systems (100 kW – 2 MW)
• Proficiency in Helioscope, PVsyst, and AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of PV monitoring and BESS integration

Preferred:

• Experience with permitting, utilities, and AHJs
• NABCEP certification or PE license
