Chief Mine Planner

A great mining company in Gauteng is seeking the expertise of a Chief Mine Planner to join their team.

Essential Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree in Engineering / Mining
• 5 - 7 years experience in mine planning across surface and underground mines
• Planning software such as Minex or Micromine

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Validate ore reserve estimates with geological team and review geological data to ensure accuracy.
• Review long-term planning and scheduling and recommend optimal operatonal strategies.
• Develop mine plans to maximize productivity and safety and minimize costs for existing and proposed operations.
• Monitor grade control drill holes for accuracy and consistency.
• Utilize geotechnical and geological requirements to plan for underground plan activities.
• Generate 3D mine plans to ensure adequate access and ventilation to mining areas.
• Oversee the preparation of mining infrastructure, such as tunnels, access roads and foundation works
