Key Responsibilities
- Managing a team within the Distribution Centre
- Monitoring and measuring the quality of all work performed by the team
- Managing all administrative tasks related to the dispatch department, including reports
- Directing employee work to ensure targets for accuracy, speed, cost, and compliance within the Distribution Centre are achieved
- Maintaining department lead-time
- Workforce planning
- Attending departmental meetings
- Producing productivity reports (KPIs and lead time)
- Validating all carton adjustments
- Improving processes within the department
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, BOP
- Being a team player
- Conducting hearings and enquiries
- Assisting with departmental HR issues
- Investigating and reporting all shorts and overs within 48 hours
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric); post-matric qualification in logistics, warehouse management, supervisor development, supply chain management, or retail business management is advantageous
- Experience in Distribution Centre / warehousing
- Proven team management experience (minimum of 2 years)
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across departments and divisions
- Willingness to work under pressure, including extra hours and shifts
- Knowledge of stock and cycle counts
- Warehouse and Distribution Centre experience
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including functions like SUM, AVERAGE, data sorting, filtering, formatting, and processing
- High accuracy and strong numeric skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
