Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a team within the Distribution Centre
  • Monitoring and measuring the quality of all work performed by the team
  • Managing all administrative tasks related to the dispatch department, including reports
  • Directing employee work to ensure targets for accuracy, speed, cost, and compliance within the Distribution Centre are achieved
  • Maintaining department lead-time
  • Workforce planning
  • Attending departmental meetings
  • Producing productivity reports (KPIs and lead time)
  • Validating all carton adjustments
  • Improving processes within the department
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, BOP
  • Being a team player
  • Conducting hearings and enquiries
  • Assisting with departmental HR issues
  • Investigating and reporting all shorts and overs within 48 hours
Qualifications and Experience
  • Grade 12 (Matric); post-matric qualification in logistics, warehouse management, supervisor development, supply chain management, or retail business management is advantageous
  • Experience in Distribution Centre / warehousing
  • Proven team management experience (minimum of 2 years)
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across departments and divisions
  • Willingness to work under pressure, including extra hours and shifts
  • Knowledge of stock and cycle counts
  • Warehouse and Distribution Centre experience
Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including functions like SUM, AVERAGE, data sorting, filtering, formatting, and processing
  • High accuracy and strong numeric skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
