Credit Vetting Supervisor

At Cell C, we are a people-centric and consumer-focused organization committed to delivering exceptional experiences to our customers. We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Credit Vetting Supervisor.

Purpose of the Job

The Credit Vetting Supervisor manages people, processes, technology, and budget within the Credit Vetting Division to improve credit risk management, operational efficiencies, and customer experience.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Perform Credit Vetting: Conduct credit vetting on all requests escalated by the team or customers, ensuring timely and accurate decisions to minimize bad debt.
  2. Operational Support: Address service requests via email, phone, and system worklists within agreed service levels, ensuring first-attempt resolution.
  3. Resource Planning: Ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and work schedules to manage workload and prevent backlogs.
  4. People Management: Manage employee performance, conduct monthly appraisals, maintain records, and foster knowledge transfer.
  5. Cost Control: Minimize divisional costs through resource management and adherence to financial policies.
  6. Business Continuity: Implement and monitor Business Continuity Plans and IT system uptime to ensure operational resilience.
  7. Reporting: Deliver accurate reports and management information on time, including daily activity, staff performance, and monthly executive reports.
  8. Client and Customer Support: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, resolve queries professionally, and provide timely feedback.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field is advantageous.

Experience
  • At least 5 years in a credit vetting and assessment environment.
  • At least 5 years in credit vetting referrals/underwriting.
  • At least 5 years in a credit management supervisory role.
