Main Purpose of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards across all business operations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.

Education, Experience And Competencies

• Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or related field.
• Certified Internal Auditor in ISO 9001 (essential).
• Certified auditor ISO 14001/ISO 45001 (advantage).
• Working knowledge of SHEQ legislation and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a SHEQ role, preferably in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Proven experience in risk assessment, root cause analysis, and audit procedures.
• SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, HIRA or similar certification will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, promote and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, and incident investigations for Booyco Head Office.
• Conduct IOD investigations for all Booyco Sites.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Supervise the SHEQ Administrator.
• Manage contractors’ SHE requirements.
• Ensure Security Personnel are informed regarding relevant SHE processes.
• Facilitate HSE awareness training for staff.
• Maintain safety records and documentation per legal and company standards.
• Liaise with sites/branches for procurement of PPE.
• Contribute to the annual SHEQ Budget.
• Drive SHEQ awareness initiatives.
• Conduct SHEQ inductions and quarterly SHE Committee meetings.
• Prepare and present SHEQ Departmental reports.
• Ensure environmental compliance with legislation and ISO 14001.
• Identify environmental risks and promote sustainability.
• Oversee waste management, pollution control, and resource use.
• Implement and maintain ISO 9001 QMS, conduct audits, and prepare documentation for audits.
• Support SHEQ objectives and KPI development.
• Manage calibration and verification of measurement equipment.
• Schedule and record maintenance of regulatory equipment.
• Oversee Diesel generator operation and maintenance.
• Prepare monthly reports on calibration and verification activities.
• Assist with EMS & OHS data collection for SHEQ reporting.
• Schedule Hygiene Surveys and Emergency Evacuation Drills.
• Maintain documentation on Regulatory Appointments and SHE registers.
• Conduct SHE inspections and develop internal 5S audits.
• Ensure regulatory appointments are current and relevant training is up-to-date.
• Procure non-stock tools and reconcile monthly tool sheets.
