Job description

A Leading Inbound Destination Management Company is recruiting Relief Travel Specialists. The candidates need to be senior and able to assist in all departments. This position is based in Sandton.

Experience required :
  1. A minimum of 3-5 years of previous inbound tour consulting experience is required.
  2. Good understanding of terms and conditions and excellent product knowledge.
  3. Understanding of travel industry channels.
  4. Understanding and knowledge of the different markets.
  5. Relevant understanding of Business to create and formulate strategies and make commercial decisions.
  6. Sales process and methodologies.
  7. Problem-solving skills.
  8. Teamwork!
  9. Proficiency in Tourplan, MS Office, and WETU.
  10. A good knowledge of South Africa, Southern and East Africa.
  11. A willingness and aptitude to always assist and learn.
  12. Ability to work shifts on rotation.
Duties include :
  1. Overseeing relevant teammates' desks; while the consultant is on leave, stepping in to handle the desk in full, managing requotes and ongoing proposals.
  2. Assisting with brochure quotes.
  3. Assist and develop agent educational bookings / hosted educational bookings and work closely with Sales to ensure these trips are seamless.
  4. Involved in the implementation of systems and procedures, assisting with testing of systems.
  5. Stepping in to chase provisional bookings for relevant team members.
  6. Following up on dead leads during quiet periods.
  7. Assisting in loading bookings for consultants during peak periods.
  8. Creative planning and designing of itineraries.
  9. Maintaining consistent and clear communication with agents, sales teams, preferred supplier partners, and colleagues.
  10. Participating in emergency duty on a rotational basis.
  11. Servicing agents and guests in a calm and professional manner.
