A leading company in Gauteng is seeking a dedicated individual to coordinate the laminates team's daily performance, ensuring targets are met and deliveries are on time. The role involves driving improvements in team performance, managing production and distribution, and fostering a cross-functional work environment. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and significant experience in manufacturing or distribution.
To coordinate the day-to-day performance of the laminates team by supporting both production and distribution team leaders in ensuring that set targets are reached and all deliveries are on time.
This includes supporting improvements in team performance, measured by output relative to planned targets, production losses, quality, safety, and employee development.
Main Objectives
Accountable for daily performance, driving achievement of business plan outputs to meet targets.
Reconcile physical production with SAP plans for standard and non-standard materials to ensure timely deliveries.
Coordinate with planning and sales on production and finished goods matters to ensure an efficient supply chain response.
Monitor and reduce raw glass and finished goods losses to minimize production waste.
Supervise PPE issuing and oversee weekly stock takes with RMCs for stock accuracy and availability.
Support team development to foster a cross-functional work environment.
Implement World Class Manufacturing standards, including Visual Performance Management, 5S, teamwork, and improvement projects for optimal efficiency.
Oversee plant equipment maintenance in collaboration with the VA engineering team.
Continuously improve health and safety measures, reviewing SOPs and risk assessments to ensure compliance with the OHS Act.
Critical job requirements
Qualifications : Grade 12, National Degree or Diploma in Production Management, Operations Management, or Supply Chain.
Knowledge : Value-added, laminated & coated product processes, SAP Production & HR modules, health & safety legislation.
Skills : Leadership, motivation, business acumen, conflict resolution, decision-making, communication, planning, control, financial management, problem-solving, HR management, technical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience : 5-7 years in distribution / manufacturing, operational involvement, plant-level leadership, effective communication, 3-5 years management experience in similar environment.
