Job description

Job Title : Operations and Inventory Lead

Key Responsibilities :

Achieve key performance indicators related to productivity, accuracy, and housekeeping.

Develop and drive team culture.

Encourage internal competitiveness to benefit clients, DHL, and employees.

Ensure compliance with statutory, company policies, and procedures, including health and safety, employment equity, labor relations, legislative, and environmental standards, through regular monitoring.

Coordinate interactions with clients and customers professionally to maximize benefits.

Human Resources :

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure staff competence.

Manage industrial relations and disciplinary actions.

Oversee performance management, training, and development.

Recruit and retain staff.

Implement change management strategies.

Deliver on KPIs and manage budgets.

Build team morale and ensure SOP compliance.

Liaise with clients on stock control issues.

Translate customer needs into effective operations.

Plan workloads and forecast volumes regularly.

Investigate stock losses and adjustments.

Prepare and submit reports and statistics to senior management periodically.

Assist in budget preparation and control, focusing on variable costs like stock losses.

Ensure accurate inventory management and stocktaking.

Maintain product traceability and establish stock control systems.

Monitor depot performance through reporting systems.

Qualifications and Experience :

University degree or equivalent professional qualification with relevant experience.

3-5 years of experience in warehouse / logistics environment.

2-3 years in a managerial role.

Knowledge of logistics market trends, opportunities, and challenges.

Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.

Understanding of distribution and transportation methods.

Experience in transportation / logistics roles.
